Google gave up on Daniel Giersch

Daniel Giersch won the legal battle from Google after 3 years. Google offered him $250,000 for gmail.de domain name but he refused. German users have to sign in to Gmail account by googlemail.com instead of gmail.com. Right now Gmail is available in 40 different languages. On last October Google named its Gmail service “Google Mail” in U.K. and now it’s German to be named that.
Daniel Giersch is an entrepreneur from German who holds secured domain name gmail.de way before Google started G-mail service. He is also known for marrying actress Kelly Rutherford who filed for divorce on 30th Dec. 2008 ending her marriage of 2 years.
But I think he is stupid, he should raise his price and sell the name. There is nothing he is going to get by keeping the domain.
