I have always admired Google because it is constantly coming with new innovative ideas and if your world already revolves around Google services, you may find that the G1 fits like a glove in your hand. Its gphone (by google) Vs. iphone (Apple) this october. Both of these phones will sell at around $199. G1phone is Google’s first phone, it is smart but needs work in compare to iphones. It has features like a special Google search, Gmail, calendar, Open source software, Android operating system etc. The G1’s Web browser is one of the best I’ve seen on a phone, it has got zoom control and finger dragging system making easy navigation. Of course, G1 is not the end, but the beginning of better products to come in this year so thumbs up for G-Phones. Now, iphone have something to worry about.
When iphone came out it is a step change compared with anything else (on cell phone biz) that has been in the marketplace, now G1 phones hit the stores people are expecting more of the application from these phones. The iPhone is an undeniably tasty piece of kit when it first hit the stores, on a screen just larger than a credit card, owners can use the telephone, camera, a standard iPod and navigate the internet, pinching their fingers together to shrink pages of information and drawing them apart to zoom in. Though other phones offered internet access, cameras, touch screens and so on, but none of them has done it as well as beautifully designed Apple iphones.
G can definitely take on I and the race has just begun there are lots more to come in coming years and we are desperately waiting.
Differences between Gphone and Iphone
- Gphone uses open source Android operating system.
- Gphone has slide out QWERTY keypad while iphone has virtual touch screen keypad.
- G1 is functional but iphone is functional, fine with style.
- G1 has PC based whereas iphone is Macintosh based.
- G1 has status bar along the top of the home page incuding gmail, calendar, home etc which I phone need to steal.
- iphone consists of lots of Graphics and animations which G-phone lacks.
- iphone got slick music player.
- iphones are 20% lighter than Gphone
- Gphones are 30% thicker than iphone.
- The G1’s Google Maps program has a feature lacking in the iPhone version.
- The G1 phone has copy and paste, MMS, organized desktop functions which iphone lacks.
- The G1 has much less memory than the iPhone. The base $199 iPhone comes with 8 gigabytes sealed in, but the G1 comes with just a 1 gigabyte memory card.
